Karen Laming (Neurological Physiotherapist, Vestibular Physiotherapist and Director of Neuro Junction and Physio Express)Karen has over 25 years experience as a Physiotherapist graduating from Sydney University in 1993 with Honours. Karen founded Physio Express our sister company in 2006.Karen has attained the title of Neurological Physiotherapist and is a member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Karen has also completed advanced post-graduate study in the field of Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy including competency-based training by Dr. Susan Herdman’s team in New Zealand.Her specialist areas of experience include management of Parkinson’s Disease and cerebellar conditions, vestibular rehabilitation, balance problems, functional neurological disorders and retraining after acquired brain injury.Karen’s ambition is to create a place where people with Neurological conditions can be educated about their health condition, feel empowered to improve their physical abilities, reach their full potential after injury or whilst living with a disease or disorder.Karen is available to see clients at Neuro Junction clinic rooms.

Karen has over 30 years experience as a Physiotherapist graduating from Sydney University in 1993 with Honours. Karen founded Physio Express our sister company in 2006.

Karen has attained the title of Neurological Physiotherapist and is a member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Karen has completed additional training in concussion including persistent post concussion symptom management.

Her specialist areas of experience include management of concussion, cerebellar conditions, vestibular rehabilitation, balance problems, functional neurological disorders and retraining after acquired brain injury.

Karen’s ambition is to create a place where people with Neurological conditions can be educated about their health condition, feel empowered to improve their physical abilities, reach their full potential after injury or whilst living with a disease or disorder.

Paige Hooper (Neurological Physiotherapist)Paige Hooper graduated from the University of Qld in 1999 and has extensive experience working within the field of neurological and rehabilitative physiotherapy both in the United Kingdom and Australia.Paige is qualified as a titled Neurological Physiotherapist and is a member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Paige teaches Neurological Physiotherapy at Bond University and has a post graduate certificate in education as well as post graduate qualifications in vestibular rehabilitation, and amputee management.Her areas of interest and specialist experience include: Spasticity and muscle overactivity management, rehabilitation following stroke and acquired brain injury, running retraining and return to sport post Acquired Brain Injury and rehabilitation and Management of Cerebellar Conditions, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.She has a passion for working with people with neurological conditions towards achieving all of their lifestyle goals.Paige provides physiotherapy services at our clinic in Palm Beach.

Paige Hooper (APA Titled Neurological Physiotherapist)

Paige graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999 and has extensive experience working within the field of neurological and rehabilitative physiotherapy in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Paige’s areas of interest and specialist experience include working with patients following acquired brain injuries, management of patients with multiple sclerosis and long-term management of patients with spasticity and muscle overactivity. Paige has a passion for assisting people to achieve all of their lifestyle, recreation and personal goals. Paige also has specialist experience working with clients who have cerebellar conditions, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, functional neurological disorders and many other neurological conditions.

Paige is a titled neurological physiotherapy and is a member of the Australian College of Physiotherapy. She is the Vice-Chair of the Neurological Group of the Australian Physiotherapy association and is an Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy at Bond University. Paige has postgraduate qualifications in education and has completed post graduate qualifications in a number of areas including amputee management, behaviour management and mental health.

Paige provides physiotherapy services at the Neuro Junction clinic rooms in Palm Beach.

Jemma Thomas (Senior Occupational Therapist)Jemma has worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 15 years. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy in 2005 in the United Kingdom.Jemma has worked in a wide range of clinical settings from acute hospitals, rehabilitation units and in the community. Jemma has worked in the public and private sectors in the settings of neurology, neuro- rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury teams, a national behavioural unit for brain injury and stroke rehabilitation.

Debbie Atkinson (Senior Occupational Therapist)

Debbie graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2006 from Curtin University of Technology.

Debbie has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training courses in the treatment of lymphoedema and as such has attained accreditation with the Australasian Lymphology Association. Debbie is qualified to treat upper limb, lower limb, breast, abdomen and genitals affected by lymphoedema.

Debbie is also experienced in the treatment of Parkinsons Disease and has completed Level 1 and 2 PD Warrior courses.

Debbie has worked in a broad range of settings from Vocational Rehabilitation and Job Capacity Assessments in the community, to hospital settings focusing on Orthopaedic, Neuro and Oncology rehabilitation. She has a passion for working with clients who have been diagnosed with neurodegenerative diseases and traumatic brain injuries by focusing on harnessing their best life, regaining independence with dignity and empowering engagement in meaningful occupations.

Aurthur Thomas-Angelo (Senior Physiotherapist)

Aurthur Thomas-Angelo graduated from Griffith University in 2010 with a Master of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Exercise Science. Aurthur has been a part of our team for 14 years. Over that time has developed his skills in all areas of community and neurological and vestibular physiotherapy.

Aurthur’s areas of interest and experience include: Vestibular physiotherapy having completed additional training in areas such as complex BPPV assessment and management and advanced vestibular management. Aurthur has extensive experience in geriatric physiotherapy working closely with elderly patients in the community to maintain independence through strength, mobility and balance retraining.

Aurthur provides physiotherapy services in the community including mobile vestibular assessment and treatment.

 
Brettney Humphrys (Physiotherapist)Brettney graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2015.Brettney has previously worked in the private sector and aged care facilities assisting clients in managing chronic diseases, rehabilitation and falls prevention. Brettney wanted to redirect her focus towards helping people in their own home environment.She thoroughly enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, in particular stroke rehabilitation and Parkinson's disease. She uses individualised program and goal orientated treatment to help clients reach their potential.Outside working hours, Brettney spends most of her time gardening, playing netball or at the beach with her two beautiful puppies.Brettney provides services at the clinic or in the community including hydrotherapy.

Brettney Humphrys (Senior Physiotherapist)

Brettney graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2015.

Lachlan Wilson (Senior Physiotherapist)

Lachlan graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Exercise Science (University Medal) in 2013 and Masters of Physiotherapy in 2015.

Lachlan has extensive past experience as a senior physiotherapist on an acute neurosurgical ward. Lachlan has participated in professional development courses in neurological physiotherapy, vestibular rehabilitation and clinical educator workshops. Lachlan has experience with people recovering from neurosurgery, central disorders of dizziness, amputation, and spinal cord injury. He likes using a wide range of treatment approaches to meet a client’s individual needs and preferences. He enjoys taking the time to educate patients and learning their stories.

Lachlan has completed professional development and gained extensive experience in respiratory physiotherapy for neuromuscular diseases. He provides individualised programs to support respiratory function and can assist in the prescription of respiratory devices for example, cough assist device.

Lachlan provides physiotherapy services in the community both in clients homes and at local hydrotherapy pools.

Maggie Hosner (Physiotherapist)Maggie graduated as a physiotherapist in Poland in 2010. Prior to joining Neuro Junction Maggie worked in rural Australia. Chris Jones (Senior Physiotherapist)

Chris graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University in 2016.

Chris has a wealth of experience in community physiotherapy. This is an area he is passionate about. He has a diverse range of experience in vestibular, neurological, and geriatric conditions. He enjoys working with NDIS participants with a range of disabilities and strives to assist them in reaching their goals.

Chris is experienced in prescribing equipment including wheelchair prescription and medical grade exercise equipment. Chris has undertaken additional training in vestibular physiotherapy and has a passion for this area of work. Chris works with clients with conditions such as BPPV, vestibular migraine, concussion, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, spinal cord injury and stroke.

Chris is available for appointments at the Neuro Junction clinic and in the community.

Tully Hately (Senior Physiotherapist)

Tully graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2000 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours

She has 20 years of experience specialising in exercise rehabilitation, having worked both in Australia and overseas. Tully has experience in the Aged Care and Hospital inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation setting and she is excited to now be able to connect with people in their home environment to assist them in achieving the best quality of life possible.

She has undertaken further study in exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, and human movement. She is passionate about bringing these skills to her clients in the community. Tully has a special interest in geriatric rehabilitation and conditioning, balance, and falls prevention.

Tully provides physiotherapy services in the community both in clients homes and at local hydrotherapy pools.

Sarah Lang (Senior Occupational Therapist)

Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (honours) in 2004 in Edinburgh, UK and has 15 years experience working as an Occupational Therapist, both in Scotland and Australia.

Sarah has worked with a range of conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, trauma and terminal illness in both hospital and community settings.

Sarah has experience and a keen interest in neurodegenerative diseases, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism and ADHD across the lifespan. She ensures that her clients feel supported by working in a neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed manner. 

Sarah assists clients in achieving their personal goals in all areas of their life, including increasing home safety, participating in meaningful occupations, as well as supporting emotional well-being and the psychosocial effects of a person’s condition.

Greta Wellm (Senior Physiotherapist)

Greta has worked as a Physiotherapist for over 25 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne in 1995.

After completing her studies, Greta has worked in Australia and the UK in a wide range of clinical settings including rehabilitation units, acute hospitals, intensive care units, outpatient care, community health, and aged care facilities.

Greta has taken further clinical education in the areas of rehabilitation, gerontology, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Diseases, and falls prevention. She is dedicated to providing the best possible home based therapy programs for her clients to help them reach their goals and maintain their independence. She strives to make therapy fun and meaningful, working together with her clients, their families and care givers in order to help them achieve their full potential.

Greta provides physiotherapy services in the community both at your home and at local hydrotherapy pools.

Jessica Murray (Physiotherapist)

Jessica completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences majoring in public health at the University of Queensland in 2017 and graduated from the University of Technology Sydney in 2019 with a Master of Physiotherapy. 

Jessica has experience in range of different health care settings including acute hospital wards, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatients and the community. Jessica has a special interest in mens and womens health in those affected by neurological conditions and has completed further professional development in the neurogenic bladder and bowel. She has also undertaken professional development in stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, vestibular rehabilitation, chronic pain and spinal cord injuries.

In her spare time Jessica enjoys surfing, fitness and travelling with her family.

Abbey Toubia (Physiotherapist)

Abbey completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from University of South Australia in 2019.

In the past, Abbey has spent time working in inpatient rehabilitation in Adelaide, gaining experience in a range of wards including neurological (stroke, Parkinson’s, brain injury, spinal cord injury), amputee, orthopaedic, geriatric, and palliative care. Her main areas of interest include stroke rehabilitation, geriatrics and spinal cord injuries.

Abbey enjoys making therapy fun and is passionate about building relationships with clients and their families to ensure patient centred care and optimising clients’ functional ability.

Abbey provides physiotherapy services in the community for home visits, hydrotherapy and at gyms.

 

Cameron Buxton (Physiotherapist)

Cameron completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2023 at Griffith University. 

Cameron has experience in a variety of different clinical settings with placements in neurological rehab, orthopaedics, persistent pain clinic and geriatric rehab.  He has a passion for rehabilitation in the geriatric population specifically focusing on achieving the greatest quality of life for the client by promoting patient-centred care. He loves helping clients to achieve their goals while keeping therapy fun and engaging. 

Cameron is looking forward to growing in his professional development in areas such as stroke and vestibular rehabilitation, particularly concussion management.

Samantha Glasby (Physiotherapist)

Samantha graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Griffith University.

Samantha has had experience in hospital acute inpatient wards (stroke, cardiorespiratory), outpatient neurological settings and geriatric rehabilitation.

Her areas of interests include geriatric rehabilitation; with goal orientated therapy, a focus on optimising function, promoting independence, falls prevention and neurological rehabilitation, in particular, stroke, brain injury and spinal cord injuries.

Samantha has a passion to further progress her professional development in neurological physiotherapy and enjoys making therapy fun and engaging for the client.

Samantha provides physiotherapy services in the community and at local hydrotherapy pools.

Kate Brown (Accounts Manager)Kate is a valuable member of Neuro Junction. She has extensive accounting experience. Kate’s attention to detail and efficiency ensure the smooth running of Neuro Junction’s accounting section.

Amy Priestner (Office Manager)

Amy brings an extensive administration experience having worked for both global and small businesses within the banking and education sector. With Amy’s organisational skills and passion for assisting others, she provides administrative support and ensures policies and procedures are met efficiently.

Michelle Loring (Admin Support/ Receptionist)

Michelle’s warm and caring nature will ensure you feel welcome and comfortable at our Neuro Junction clinic at Palm Beach. She manages the day-to-day operation of the practice, striving to bring about excellent service and friendliness to each and every patient.

Rebecca Hartnett (Admin Assistant)

Rebecca is an integral part of our support team. She enjoys interacting with clients and staff and assists in the success of Physio Express and Neuro Junction. Her warm smiling face is always ready to greet clients and answer the phone. She has spent time travelling and working in multiple industries across Canada and America and her organisational and efficiency skills are unmatched when it comes to business.
